Alpine Clinical Research CenterThe CompanyThe company employs experienced RNs and Clinical Coordinators dedicated exclusively to the coordination of research studies. We then contract with select physicians in the community to serve as our investigators. Since this is our only business, we can devote all of our time and efforts to completing our studies successfully. Our physicians focus on the clinical aspects of the trial, our nurses see to overall study management, and our sponsors get the results they are looking for. Based in the foothills of Boulder, Colorado, we are an easy drive from Denver International Airport and are within minutes of the University of Colorado campus. We are also across the street from Boulder Community Hospital. Our office is equipped with a lab, an EKG machine, pulmonary function equipment, and an x-ray department. The Clinical DirectorPeg Sharp, RN, CCRC, is the President of Alpine Clinical Research Center, Inc. Peg has worked within the pharmaceutical industry since 1981 in a variety of research related positions. Peg began her career as a clinical research associate for a prominent CRO in Boston. After 3 years of recruiting and monitoring investigators, she accepted the clinical director's position for their 120 bed Phase I unit. Peg successfully managed a multitude of Phase I studies for the next five years. After moving to Colorado, Peg was employed as the research director for a large multispecialty clinic in Boulder. This is where she gained experience in conducting Phase II, III and IV studies. In 1994 Peg founded Alpine Clinical Research Center. She and her research staff are currently managing a variety of clinical trials for many of the physicians in the area. In addition, Peg is co-chairman of the local institutional review board and maintains an active membership with the Drug Information Association and the Associates of Clinical Pharmacology. The Medical DirectorPaul Brownstone, MD is a board certified Neurologist who began participating in clinical research trials with Alpine Clinical Research Center in 1994. He also maintained a private practice in neurology from 1984 through 1997. In 1997 he joined Alpine Clinical Research Center as the Medical Director. In addition to overseeing clinical trials he helps recruit appropriate additional investigators based on the needs of a particular trial. He assists with marketing efforts, quality assurance, and regulatory affairs such as adverse event and serious adverse event reporting. He also regularly attends investigator meetings and is available to meet with monitors and auditors. |
