This is a 12 week study comparing an investigational medication with placebo in the treatment of moderate to severe acne. Subjects will apply the topical investigational medication twice daily and will return to the clinic at weeks 1, 4, 8, and 12. After completion of the 12-week study patients have the option to continue treatment with the study medication for another year.

Eligible subjects must be at least 9 years old and have at least 20 red, irritated pimples and at least 20 whiteheads or blackheads and no more than 2 large, hard bumps on the face.

Study medication and study care will be provided at no cost in addition to compensation for time.
